Install

1. Download the .zip above and unzip it to a folder you'll keep around (e.g. ~/Applications/knowstash). Avoid the Desktop or Downloads — you'll want a stable path for updates.
2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome (Brave / Edge / Arc work too).
3. Enable Developer mode (toggle at the top right).
4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
5. Pin the extension to your toolbar (puzzle-piece icon → pin).

Updating to a new version

1. Download the new .zip above.
2. Unzip it and replace the contents of your existing KnowStash folder with the new files (keep the folder path the same so your extension data is preserved).
3. Open chrome://extensions and click the ↻ refresh button on the KnowStash card.

Forgot where you unzipped it? On chrome://extensions with Developer mode on, the KnowStash card shows a Loaded from path — that's the folder to overwrite. If you can't find it, the cleanest reset is: click Remove on the card, then follow the install steps above with the new .zip (note: this clears any local extension data).

Chrome may show a one-time popup at startup saying "Disable developer mode extensions" — you can dismiss it. This is normal for extensions installed outside the Chrome Web Store.
